Steps to a Healthy Planet:
As you get to know us, we think that you'll find that one of our
genuine concerns is the future health of the earth. Global climate
change due to human activity is very real, and very scary. Not
to mention contamination of soils, watersheds, and other critical
parts of our world. So here are a few thoughts on how we are trying
to help out!
Step
1 - Our Biodiesel program. Biodiesel is
an exciting product that can be used to power diesel engines with
virtually no modification. It burns cleaner than mineral diesel,
is renewable, and does not release carbon into the atmosphere
that was previously trapped under the earth as fossil fuels. Currently
we are operating our new wood chipper on Biodiesel and as we are
able to acquire new machinery, we are committed to supporting
alternative fuel sources.
Step
2 - Our Plant Health Care program. We focus our remedies
for landscape problems on simple, organic and biodegradable products
and practices. With the opportunity to develop long term landscape
goals, we can match native plants to appropriate areas of the
landscape for a naturally low maintenance and beautiful garden!
Step
3 - We're in the business of planting and developing
trees! You can think of your developing woody landscape as a "Carbon
Dioxide Sink". A carbon dioxide sink is "a carbon reservoir
that is increasing in size, and is the opposite of a carbon source".

The plants that we all know and love, while photosynthesizing,
convert carbon from CO2 in the atmosphere to biomass, where it
no longer aids global warming. One should feel good working to
add, and maintain plant life in our surroundings, for it helps
in so many ways.
Step
4 - The little things. From using florescent light
bulbs in our home, office, and garage, to having a no idling policy
for our machinery (rather than leave motors running, when not
needed we turn them off). Little steps like these have a big impact
on how much energy we use.
Step
5 - ??? - We are in a constant state of learning more
and more about our world and would value any tips!
