We are thrilled to announce that our own Training & Development Manager Jacob Nau is now an ISA Board Certified Master Arborist® (BCMA)! This is no average feat and we're impressed by Jacob's drive and dedication to earn the top certification in our industry! This adds to his other credentials of being ISA Tree Risk Assessment Qualified, NCCER Certified, and a Certified Treecare Safety Professional (CTSP).
Question: How does an ISA Board Certified Master Arborist® differ from an ISA Certified Arborist®?
Jacob’s Answer: A BCMA is the highest credential offered by the International Society of Arboriculture. A combination of formal education and/or years of work experience are required to be able to take the test! I am very pleased to have this credential and it has only inspired me further to learn more about caring and managing the wonderful trees around us.
“The ISA Board Certified Master Arborist® credential is the highest level of certification offered by ISA. This credential recognizes ISA Certified Arborists® who have reached the pinnacle of their profession. In addition to passing an extensive scenario-based exam, candidates must abide by a Code of Ethics, which ensures quality of work. Fewer than two percent of all ISA Certified Arborists® currently hold this certification.”
